Damage Evolution Analysis in a “Spaghetti” Bridge Model Using the Acoustic Emission Technique

This paper applies the Acoustic Emission (AE) Technique to analyze damage process in a one-meter span bridge model that was built from spaghetti sticks during loading test. The AE signals are analyzed terms of four coefficients evaluated as predictors structure failure, with frequency variation appearing be strongest indicator instability. data also compared theoretical predictions given by Bundle Model, confirming underlying general patterns processes highly influenced geometric distribution and pattern is applied it.
